IPL and Resurfix
Invest in the tone and texture of your skin, because your skin is permanent. Makeup is not.
- Even out skin tone
- Increase collagen production
- Minimal downtime procedure
What should I expect?
Why minimal downtime?
Non-ablative means the skin is not broken, so the resurfaced skin will not bleed or get infected during treatment or after, as it can with other technologies. Thus, there is minimal downtime and risk.No required time to rest or heal means no social downtime. There may be some redness and swelling right after the procedure and the following few days. Typically, your provider will advise you to wear sunblock and stay out of the sun for a few days. Check with your provider about wearing makeup the next day.
How do I get the most benefit and when do I see results?
3-5 sessions are typically recommended for optimal results, in 4-6 week intervals. Gradual improvements in tone may be seen as soon as a couple weeks after the procedure, and benefits of collagen production start appearing after 3 months
- A boost in collagen
- A more uniform skin tone
- Pigment such as brown or dark spots from age, sun damage, or scarring
- Redness and broken capillaries
- Textural irregularities
What is it?
The Lumenis® PhotoFractional treatment combines two technologies to address both tone and textural irregularities. By decreasing pigmentation and redness while simultaneously triggering collagen production, you skin becomes more even in color and texture.
The M22® IPL (intense pulsed light) treatment is a great eraser for surface irregularities such as brown or dark spots from sun damage or scars, redness, or broken capillaries.
The ResurFX™ non-ablative fractional laser emits precise columns of heat energy into the skin to stimulate new collagen growth and retexture the skin. The controlled heat laser delivery has been used for decades in dermatology to trigger the body to “repair” the skin, leading to collagen production. Stimulating new collagen production is the key to more radiant, youthful looking skin.
How does it work?
By combining both IPL and ResurFX technologies, both skin pigmentation and textural irregularities can be treated within the same session. Lumenis IPL technology removes both unwanted pigmentation and blood vessels from the skin, while the ResurFX™ fractional laser stimulates the production of new collagen and elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the skin.
To ensure utmost comfort, your physician can typically apply a topical numbing cream before treatment and/or use air cooling during treatment. Depending on your specific concern, you can expect the session to last 15-30 minutes. You may experience a warm or prickling sensation as the laser is applied to the skin, but the treatment is gentle and should not feel uncomfortable.
Is it right for me?
Lumenis energy-based treatments are not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. PhotoFractional is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include: damage to skin texture, change of pigmentation and scarring. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.
Laser microbeams heat the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastic fibers, and intense pulses of light address unwanted pigmentation and blood vessels.
The advanced scanner delivers the laser beams in a precise manner with integrated cooling to ensure maximum comfort.
